Robbins was the son of one of the first settlers of Solon and authored a book entitled A Journal: Comprising an Account of the Loss of the Brig Commerce in He was regarded as a national hero. Several companies operated Stone quarries along the Aurora Branch of the Chagrin River. Today I was at the Shaw Hudson House doing some work on the book collection of the Plainfield Historical Society. I picked up a book to check it against the inventory: A JOURNAL, COMPRISING AN ACCOUNT OF THE LOSS OF THE BRIG COMMERCE OF HARTFORD, (CON.).
